Gates and Keys #1 In the book of Matthew, chapter 16:18-19, Jesus tells Peter that the gates of Hell will not prevail against His church. Jesus then says that He will give Peter (many believe that Jesus is also alluding to those that make up the church…which are “Sincere Believers in Jesus as the Christ”) the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.
